Art.ouarzazate For a fair and sustainable fashion Handicraft house founded in 1959 in Marrakech, Art.Ouarzazate is a family business, registered in the traditional social structures of the medina in Marrakech that adapts to environmental constraints with an ambitious concept of “Zero Fall”. It trains and employs craftsmen who are proud of their know-how, who in their workshops perpetuate the oldest traditions of weaving, embroidery and leatherwork of Moroccan art, to financial conditions largely re-evaluated, which take into account the social situations of each. Respecting the environment, the house favors the reuse of second-hand fabrics: upholstery, canvas, furs otherwise intended to increase the volume of waste produced by our planet. Leathers which are treated traditionally use no chemicals: no chromium, no ammonia, no sulphides, no chemical dyes – the pigments are natural. The weavings exclude any synthetic fiber. They prefer cotton, aloe, apricot resins, wool and leather scrap. Regarding the treatment of waste, all falls are used – it is one of the strong concepts of a house, a motto, that this 0% of falls, which also guarantees the creation of unique pieces, always guided by the availability of materials and opportunities they contain.
